Abstract

It is a notorious fact for the national and international opinion that the hydroelectric project Sogamoso-Santander-poses an environmental conflict, which is not accepted, valued, or adequately compensated by the environmental authorities, private sector and Government, who within their competence, actions and omissions have generated and allowed an unquantifiable environmental damage that affects the interests of ostensibly healthy environment for the survival of humanity. Has been widely demonstrated that the construction of dams, generates irreversible damage to communities affected by the right to a healthy environment, the effect on habitats, human health, livelihoods and food sources.
