This article analyzes the impact of educational scholarships on the quality of life of high school students in the Monterrey metropolitan area. We begin by considering scholarships in other dimensions, beyond their economic function, as they influence both objective economic conditions and subjective perceptions of student well-being. The methodology employed is mixed: quantitative, using surveys with a 5-point Likert scale and subsequent statistical analysis in SPSS, and qualitative, through documentary analysis of public policies.
Among the main findings, it was discovered that scholarships significantly contribute to reducing the need for formal employment and increasing academic motivation. However, stress levels linked to the academic requirements for maintaining the scholarship were also detected. This article proposes incorporating a comprehensive perspective into the design of scholarship policies, including emotional support and inclusive criteria.
