Abstract

At present, organized crime is one of the greatest challenges for States. Thus, the authorities have created extraordinary techniques of criminal investigation to combat it. Among these are undercover operations. This paper will address the issue of undercover operations in the context of organized crime. In addition, a review of the undercover agent as the main protagonist of such operations will be undertaken. Finally, it will be concluded that these should apply only to investigations that are related to organized crime, and under strict judicial control.
