Abstract

Don Manuel Fanega has published in "Criminology and Editorial Justice" a reliable and accurate study in relation to the figure of the criminologist in the prison environment and, more specifically, in the intramural space. Graduated in Criminology and Security from the University of Cádiz, with a Master's Degree in Human Rights, Democracy and Globalization from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, the prominent official of Penitentiary Institutions in active service, Manuel Fanega, highlights the profession of the criminologist in its penitentiary aspect , demanding, in parallel, a greater consideration of higher studies in Criminology, in relation to the horizontal promotion that exists in the different bodies that are part of the Penitentiary Administration, in order to provide them with the best professionals, giving effective compliance, In this way, the constitutional principle of efficiency of public administrations, as well as the principles of merit and capacity that should prevail in the various forms of prison promotion. And how brilliantly!
